Textured from Tas is a small business specialising in handmade textured artwork, founded by Brittany, a midwife based in Hobart, Tasmania. What began as a creative outlet during her busy life as a midwife has since blossomed into a passion and dream job. Even as she pursues her artistic passion, Brittany continues to care for the women and families of Hobart through her midwifery work.

Brittany loves working with her clients to create beautiful custom pieces that will add warmth and charm to any space. For those who prefer a quicker option, she also offers ready-made pieces that eliminate the decision-making process of custom orders.

Whilst Brittany is Hobart based, she does ship her art worldwide.

  • No! I believe that art is individual and unique to each home, so there is no additional charge for ordering something perfect for you.

  • Yes, I am definitely flexible with payment instalments. Please talk to me directly and we can make a plan to suit you.

  • Generally, my waitlist is around 3 weeks. The the turn around time from start to completion of art varies on size and detail. As an estimate, a smaller piece would be 1 week and a bigger piece would be 2-3 weeks, however, this would be confirmed when enquiring.

    The sooner you lock in your deposit, the sooner I can order your products to get started.

  • Here is a quick breakdown:

    My choice of canvases are triple primed and purchased new for each commission, which ensures that they are of consistently high quality and stable over a long lifespan. I do not up-cycle any old prints or paintings. 

    Whilst there are many choices of medium available, many of which I have tried and tested, I have found that the most reliable, crack resistant and long lasting, is modelling paste.

    My choice of premium materials will allow your piece to stand the test of time. All pieces are sealed with a permanent varnish after completion, which protects against dust, tarnish, wear, and moisture. Unlike some other varnishes, this finish will not become brittle or yellow over time.

  • Framing is the best way to elevate your artwork to that next L E V E L! I’ve always wanted to provide options for all desires and budgets, and therefore, I provide two framing options.

    My premium framing option is a Tasmanian Oak frame, custom made to pieces of any size. Tasmanian Oak is a hardwood, which is extremely strong, long lasting, and high quality.

    For a more affordable option, I also offer natural and painted pine frames. These frames come in selected sizes only.
